1-on-1 PT isn't for everyone, and it doesn't have to be. A lot of my clients get just as much out of training with one or two mates — sometimes more. Here's why small group sessions work so well.
You still get a plan built around you
Small group doesn't mean generic. Everyone in the session still gets exercises and loads suited to them — it's just delivered in a shared space instead of a private one. I keep groups small enough that nobody's an afterthought.
The energy is different
There's something about training alongside someone else that pushes you a little further than training alone. A bit of friendly competition, someone to high-five after a tough set, someone who notices if you skip a week — it all adds up.
It's easier to stay consistent
Booking a session with a friend means you're a lot less likely to cancel on a day you're not feeling it. That accountability is often the difference between a program that works and one that quietly fizzles out.
It's kinder on the budget
Splitting a session across two or three people makes regular training more accessible, without cutting corners on coaching quality.
Is it right for you?
If you've got a mate who's also keen to train, or you just like the idea of company over solitude, small group PT is worth a try. If you'd rather have the space entirely to yourself, 1-on-1 is still there. Either way, we start with a chat about what suits you best.
